The Wedding March

It happened the day we were wed.
(It happened the day we were dead.)
White flowers everywhere.
Rice on the floor.
Toasters and new silverware.
Streamers and bows on the car door.
Just married on the bumper.
(Just burried on the bumper.)
I was smiling and he laughed merrily.
His laughter nearly sounded like shrieking.
We prepared to drive off happily.
To the sound of cheers and shampaign glasses breaking.
(Not breaking for me, not breaking for he.)
It only took me two seconds to realise...
I had begun to bleed.
The shots were lively, and as we layed...
Our wedding car was being driven away...
(But not with us in it...we had to stay.)
For this day and every day...
Forever more...
listening to the cheers and stepping on glass shards.
As we dance to the beat of the wedding march.
(As we dance to the beat of the deading march.)
Now we will be married forevermore.
