Are we who we think we are?
Are we who we want to be?
Are we who we say we are?

Do we listen to others
To know who we are?

If others say
We are good at something
Do we treat it as the truth?

We deny of listening to rumors
Yet sometimes
We let the rumors influence us

We tend to act like newborn kittens
Blind to the truth of ourselves

We are who we pretend to be…
Are we?

Or are we just who others want us to be?

Why do we figure this out
When it is too late?
After we get hurt?

Why do we act like this?
Are we who we are?
We hope to find ourselves
In this hypocritical world
We are who we hope to be
Are we?
