"Vipers"

Today's generation, what have we done,

Where are our hearts and what have we done,

I fear the end is near and the wars have begun,

for all that had meaning, and was sacred is undone,

We have given in to the temptations of the skin,

Unmeasurable is our sins

Like vipers resting in the pit

we wait and with venom we spit

hate and loathing at one another,

our lust for each other

without end, why do we give in

what happened to our ethics

and our way

Is it the time and the day

or is it just the viper's way?

i hate to admit, but i agree. i have the same oppinion, in a way. very wll written.

While every care is taken to ensure the general sites content is family safe, our moderators cannot be in all places; all the time. Please report poetry and or comments that are in breach of our site rules HERE (Please include poem title or url). Parents also please ensure that you supervise your children well when they are on the internet; regardless of what a site says about being, or being considered, child-safe.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
