nocturnal

Contributed by derwydd on Saturday, 21st December 2002 @ 05:20:00 AM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

The night wind is cold,
As it whispers through the trees’ boles.
The stars shimmer like flames
Upon their nocturnal ways,
But they are too distant to give warmth;
Too callous to end the craving of my heart.
My breath breeds ghostly plumes
That join the mist as it blooms.
The moon grants his silv'ry light
To preside over the night.
Beneath the heavens that the stars surmount,
I find a place beside the fount.
I seek the peace of the stream.
I long to see the face that haunts my dreams.
I burn for the embrace of fate,
The kiss of the Eternal’s grace
Manifested in promises to keep.
Somewhere she sleeps,
Alone even as I am alone,
Beneath the same starry dome.
Somewhere she waits.
We wait for light to resuscitate,
To be brought into brilliant reality,
Clinging to each other lest we
Wake to find it all a dream…

allyn, reading this only reminds me of how wonderful a man you are. i hope (and pray even) that one day you will find a girl to fill the void in your life that youve made so many references to in your work. im sorry that i couldnt be that one and that i havent been there for you like i said i would be. as selfish as it is of me to say this, my life has been a burden the last few months and i havent had the strength to even support myself. i hope youll find a way to forgive me, maybe we could find a way to piece back together whats left of our friendship.
