Who Is The Rich Man?

Contributed by MoonfeverMuse on Saturday, 21st December 2002 @ 04:40:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Live in worldly splendor
Both the poor and rich
Can play the spender
And use currency which
Has earthen value

Rich men count their coin
Poor men number each second
Only needful expenses join
Value's use for what they reckon
Is treasure that they spend

They're both sure to save
Each penny in each coffer
For they both simply crave
What a lifetime has to offer
Each proclaims "Nothing's free!"

The rich carry jewels in hand
The poor man stands only in name
But poor men know that where they stand
Is simply a present place at which they came
To be

I really understand where you are coming from in this poem! Many times ive tried to explain somewhat of the same thing to others who think that a person of riches has everything. My opinion is that they dont. Thank you for sharing your talent. :D

True, true-are we such a cash-minded society that people kill, lie, cheat and intimidate just for high living?
