betrayed by trust

Strolling along,
you don't know where you belong.
waiting for the perfect trust
to catch your eye and
not decieve with only the
image of perfection--
A shadow sparks your
foggy vision, coming out
of no where.
It captivates, and moves you,
bewitching your step.
Your mesmerized by the
darkness, swirling and
waiting for you, reaching for you.
It floods your soul, your mind--
your heart.
Blackens the depth of your
thoughts, leaving you forgetful and helpless.
your gone.
your done.

A diamond-in-the-rough does not sparkle as brilliantly as a finished, and polished, diamond, but both have the same potential. It all depends on the amount of time spent in the detailing. Anything can be made beautiful if you work on it long enough. (hint: use you’re instead of your. It makes all the difference). Great poem.
