Happy Day Of Our Birth

Contributed by Willofree on Monday, 4th April 2005 @ 12:32:43 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

What does it mean to have a birthday
Other than good wishes we celebrate each year
What really is our reason for being here

Well it is a joyous event and celebration
For the acknowledgement of a Holy creation
As another Human Being was brought into this world

We celebrate this blessed event
As it signals our entry into our mortal life and God's covenant
We are taught to understand, this is all part of God's plan

Although the cord is severed at birth
We are forever linked with our Holy Father here on earth
And thus He imbibes us with His Spirit

So precious did our Lord decide
A guardian angel was assigned to be at our side
As He will never abandon us

So our annual birthday celebration
Is a yearly tribute to our gift of life with jubilation
And a time to pause and reflect, with contemplation

For our presence here is a sacred mission
Along with our celebration we need to make our decision
As we are sent as God's delegation with His permission

=] yes, too bad no one really celebrates earth day since that is also a very special birthday type event. written nicely. i think the rhyme scheme needs to be cleaned up a bit though.
