Earth’s Symphony

Contributed by lostinmyself on Monday, 4th April 2005 @ 12:20:41 PM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

I could have danced to the way the wind blows,
In the ups and downs of the music it creates,
Like a flute in the silence of a clearing,
Like the sound of the reeds in the lakes.
While the leaves played a rustled accompaniment,
To the staccato applause from the grass,
And the bee's almost buzzed for an encore,
Fearing to believe that the moment had passed.

And the sun would bless us with it's spotlight,
While the birds sang the chorus to the sky,
And the clouds would close over like a curtain,
As the day quietly sung it's goodbyes.

Then the night would sneak in silently,
Unwilling to interupt the song,
But quieting the music with it's presence,
As if to make a noise would somehow be wrong,
And the trees would shuffle in comfort,
Composing a lullaby to set the world to sleep,
While an owl would put voice to the moonlight,
For a silent watch it would silently keep.

Till the moon would sink low on the horizon,
Waiting for a spotlight to take its place,
To wake morning up with a production,
Unseen by the human race.

[And the stage is always set in the nightime,
While life aways takes place in the day,
The music will carry on; nature's listening,
In its own very special way.
While the birds sing their song every morning,
And the moon stands guard every night,
In a play of the seasons and magic,
There for nature's every delight.]

This is absolutely beautiful. The rhythum and flow is a song, danced to the rendition of nature. As it is nature that provides the melody. This lead me to toss out Natures' Melody as another possible title to wonderful poem....or Wind Song

Well done! Fantastic write

The Song seems to be appropriate for this piece. Loved the style of your write. It is light-hearted and I enjoyed reading it.

Wow How apropriate for nature, which is truely a soong! You have done it justice. The title is fine as is, but if it bothers you that much, then perhaps..Natures' Song?

"A Lullaby's Composition"
"Play Of Seasons"

I could go on....

Great poem.

Wow, Phil. I think you might understand how much I love good nature poetry (something to do with the fact that nature has made an appearance in, I think, every one of my poems posted here). This is exquisite, extraordinary. The language is beautiful, and the imagery stunning.

I can't single out anything, for it all flows too well.

Bravo! my friend.

Andrew

I enjoyed this piece. Personally, I'd tighten it up a bit to keep the tempo you established in the opening lines going - but, it's your creation, and I applaud you.

Wow Phil! This was so beautiful! It just had the most perfect imagery. Vivid and descriptive! I can't add much more to what everyone has already said here, but I think you deserve a standing ovation for this one! ~joni~

A vivid write.
Dreamy and creative...
There is a fantastic rhyme scheme, to follow a perfect flow...from visualisation to the next...
And what beautiful pictures you paint with your humble words.
I love it, Phil. ox

I could feel myself drifting wistfully through your grand imagery. This was seriously, to coin a phrase, like a breath of fresh air and that is not easily found these days. But in this.... it was there and much more!!!
