Love's Voice

Topic: StoryPoetry

One Lonely ear can hear the plea that love blows,
Intensity draws him, as the distressed voice grows.
Walking towards his destiny, a summer breeze across his face,
He awaits the voice that called him, love waits for his embrace

She’s laying down staring at the blue sky, whispering for his love,
Asking for love she doesn’t deserve, praying for an answer from above.
Embracing the passions of her mind, drawing back memories of that night,
Candlelight flickering, dancing shadows, for his love she’s willing to fight.

He walks through the fires of his heart and the waters of his mind,
He battles against great odds for their souls to be intertwined.
Reflecting upon that night of passion, how dear he speak her name,
For he was the one who provoked such envious eyes, she is not to blame

“Take away my shadow” he cries “for I deserve to walk alone”,
“why watch me destroy our love, when all along you’ve known?”
Climbing up the steps that lead to the distinct voice that prayed on his ear,
His shadow blocks the sun from her eyelids; she opens to find he’s not there.

For as he took one last deep breath, before facing loves sweet voice,
He looked upon the path he walked, realizing he still had a choice.
There’s a scent of love lingering in the air, she knows that he’s nearby,
“take my love, and embrace its strength” she listens, but no reply.

For in his heart the fire burned, in his mind the river flowed,
But he knew the way it had to be - to walk that lonely road.
No more shall he hurt those dreamers that call his name in distress,
“I am reckless with all who love me, I’ll tear your soul”, I confess.

She looks into the grim sky as the rain of sorrow begins to fall,
Listening to these words, thinking no one cares for her at all.
This love has tricked her heart, now she’s torn from inside.
“I warned you” the voice said, “to you I could not have lied”.
