So Hard To Forget

Contributed by white_tiger on Monday, 4th April 2005 @ 06:01:43 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

You turned to me and it made my heart beat faster
You whispered in my ear and I would tinge with surprise,
And when you called out to me, it was like a breath of fresh air
I was always on cloud nine; that is until the day I opened my eyes.

I was always living the world in a fantasy; never saw reality
But when I realised that you'd gone away, I was in shock
You said you'd never leave my side, but words mean nothing
I wish time went backwards; I wish I could turn back the clock.

No one to comfort me when it just wasn't my day
No one to tell me that the right and wrongs of life,
You left me in a state of suicide; what should I do know?
Locked in the bathroom day after day; wounds played by the knife.

Never once did you think what would happen to me?
After all that we had, it was all suddenly gone,
You may seem like you're having the time of your life
But me, I'm stuck in the past, wishing I was never born.

Darkness torments me day and night; always feeling restless
Faith and trust are words of the past; why did I believe you?
You promised; but promises never mean anything today
Even I can make you a promise, but tomorrow, it's out in the blue.

I guess you are happier now; I wonder where you are
Every night, my eyes search for you; oh, how my heart does pine,
But I just want you to know; that for the rest of my life
I'll still love you, even though you never wanted to be mine

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
