They were right

Topic: dedicatedpoems

They were right
I should’ve listened to them
For every time that I tried to deny it
It got worse and worse
He abused me
But I thought that I loved him
I guess I didn’t
I should’ve listened to my friends
He lied to me
He used me
But I guess he didn’t cheat
But how do you know that’s the truth?
Just because he said so?
That’s not a good enough reason
But I should’ve said no
So many times that I didn’t
And it got worse every time I tried
I should’ve broke it off
But I was too scared
Because I thought it was love
But it was just lust
And scared of getting beat
So I should tell my friends I’m sorry
Because all of them
They were all right

Truth does not always hold happiness and happiness does not always hold truth.
