There is no love

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

There is no love.

Three AM: a cigarette and bright white skies
are all that I have left of my dreams.

I can write the stars and the stars are incomplete
dancing to a finger that cannot be imagined.

I am as empty as the night typing sideways
over the course of the moon.

I type. I erase. I type. I erase.
The world is a blank page
smeared black and bold
blue lines.
The world is the carcass
of a man
The carcass of a man
writhing and fighting his sleep.

I dream and all my dreams are dead.
I live and all my life is pain.
I love and there is no love.

I remember standing in the rain.
I remember loving her
so long ago.

I am different now.
I am someone else.
I am changed
so long ago.

I loved and all my love is dead
All my love the simplest
smile smiling at the scene
the drama
the game
that I play
that i cannot win.

I am different now.
I am someone else.
I am changed
remembering her fine red hair
her green eyes holding
so many years ahead.

I would have never imagined
sitting here today.
I would never have imagined
how easily my hands glide across
this keyboard
her hair
her body
opening in the dying amber light
opening at the hearth of the fire
opening her love to me.

I would have never imagined
being alone.

And then, the winter fell before us.

So long ago
the arizona night
the stained linoleum
the paint and walls
and warm red wine
still fresh
her perfume
her piercing gray eyes
called green
her love
and her love is dead
is dead
her love
so long ago.

very touching and very moving as well, this was full of emotion and feeling the flow and the structure were well used and your words were chosen well. all that aside I am a little confused, this seems to be a sad or dark poem rather then an emotioanl one. but the reason for and the personal meaning are all that matter. I did like this one greatly.
