Just not enough time
Too busy and got bills to pay
They say it’s wise to pray to God
And to thank him every day
So I mutter a quick prayer
A few words that are sure to please
Then I rush out the door
I feel my soul at ease
Went off to work
Forgetting everything I said
Oh well at least I tried
Could’ve said nothing instead
I’ve done my Christian duty
So I let the day pass me by
I didn’t know it really mattered
Till it came my time to die
There I stood before God
He said:
“I was going to write you and your daughter
Into the book of life
Yes I really did incline
To write your name in ink
But I didn’t have the time”
