Can You Hear Me?

Can you hear the tears,
That I cry in a lifeless tone?
Can you feel my presence,
Even when you think you’re alone?
Do you wish I was with you,
Taking up extra space on your swing?
Do you wonder about our future,
Or the happiness it might bring?
Do the stars tell you how much I wish?
Do I ever cross your mind?
Is the only pathway to your heart,
Difficult to find?
Can you see “I Love You” in my eyes,
Or is it something I have to say?
Can you hear me praying at night,
Hoping to God you won’t run away?
(As are all my other poems, this too, is for my one and only, my angel, my Jacob. Baby, someday, I'll sit with you for hours and tell you just how much I wanted to fill that extra space on your porch swing).
