Untitled
She washed the walls today
Hands calloused, wet and full of suds
The dirt, the grime, fell away
Revealing white
stark, clean, empty
She washed the walls today
Wiping tears from her reddened eyes
Hiccuping sobs from deep
Inside her broken heart
empty, stark, cleansed
She washed the walls today
Remembering all the times
She yelled at them, to wash
Their dirt filled little hands
Wishing their prints away
She washed the walls today
The prints are gone
Along with a thousand yesterdays
Along with the little hands
Who held hers for such a short time.
