The Forgotten

Topic: SadPoetry

They sneak around in the shadows watching us.
Waiting to take us to our fates.
We become the forgotten, the ones who are missing forever.
The ones that shall never return and the ones that never will be remembered.
We stay with our stalkers in the shadows waiting hoping someone will remember our names.
No one does, they always forget; the human mind is always forgetting.
Still lurking in the shadows our stalkers take more and more.
Testing to see if we can be remembered at all.
They take our loved ones away from all the grief of our supposed death.
Never again shall you see them; they tell us.
They shall never remember you.
You humans are like mice hiding in the dark; when death comes you always want it to take someone else.
You can never all corporate together because you can never trust each other fully.
Lair, thief, monster, we mutter in our dark coffins.
Powerless to stop the memories from flowing through our mind,
They take our love our family and our memories of life.
Until one remembers, calling out our names and we hear.
Memories flood back to our minds that were so dearly lost.
The sweet sound of tragedy faced us, until they called out our names and freed us from the shadows.
There is nothing worse than forgetting we said to each other.
Remember our memories are what keep us alive.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
