As the World Crumbles Around Me

Faces go by but they all look the same,
Locked in a room with a mirror and frame,
My room spins around while the fan sits still,
Birds fly nowhere past my cracked windowsill,
I gaze at my clock on the wall through the mirror,
time tiptoes backwards but the sun still goes west,
Dust collects on my TV but the picture gets clearer,
its clear i'm still better off than the rest,
the rain doesn't stop in the cloud of my mind,
dreams drowning like people and all of mankind,
The world will stop spinning and we will all fall,
our progress is all just a baby's slow crawl,
so finding the end might just be our leap forward,
and we all can just get on with our eventual death,
if god would just give us all these things straightforward,
then before we all drown we won't hold our breath.
