Numb

Contributed by blue_angel on Thursday, 31st March 2005 @ 03:26:49 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Cold and dark are the shadows around me
In which I have lived my useless life
The pain is so overwhelming
And in all my fear I want to die
The coppery taste of my blood in my mouth
In this place I am growing numb
Is this what life is all about
Where does all this pain come from
Freezing am I standing alone
No one left to come save me
I’ve grown so weak, I’ve grown so cold
Nowhere near where I want to be
Falling through all the emptiness
What is there to break my fall
I’m not okay; my life’s a mess
And I want to give up on it all
The truth has been burned into my soul
There’s no one left to even care
Nothing to fill my gaping hole
They’re all gone, there’s no one there
All I’ve done is chase them away
No one was there sticking by my side
With my depression I’ve gone astray
Alone in my corner I hide
Now that my whole body’s numb
Numb to the pain, nothing left to be
I say goodbye to everyone
Yet there’s no one left to hear me
