Nothing was Right

Grief

She was naïve
She only thought she knew
She seemed happy
But nothing was right on the inside
She wanted love
The love she had never gotten
Her parents split up long ago
Never a second word
She wonders when it all went wrong
When everything suddenly turned black
When she started crying
And stopped smiling
She was so desperate
For that love
The love that was gone
That she didn’t know
What love even was
She was naïve
And she only thought she knew
