And You're Gone

Contributed by Archie on Wednesday, 30th March 2005 @ 04:29:48 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

On a cold and blustery day
you picked your time to go away
and the snow announced the memory of your pain.
The birds called out to you
trying to bring you some good news
to maybe quell the pain that you went through.
Alas you did not hear
and the stage was deftly set
for the tradgedy that fate already knew.
You put the gun up to your head
and with one loud and fatal blast
your tortured soul would finally be soothed.

(Chorus)
And silence fell,
nothing could quell
the horror of the moment
that ended all your torment
that I wished I could prevent.
Tears will be wept
in dark decent;
and it is meant to be.
For now you're gone
Now you are gone

I wonder of the thoughts
that led you to this final moment
to give up on all hope and thanksgiving.
I wonder are you better
yet I think that you are worse.
Nothing comes from giving up but bitter pain

(Chorus)

All fell unto darkness
from teardrops in your eyes.
When you came to the crossroad
that said you had to die.
The symphony was playing
its low and mighty notes
that would draw everyone you knew to tears.

(Chorus)

Based on the true events that happened in Groton Ct. No names were used to protect the family and friends of this sad event. I truly hope he finds peace. (I did not know him but was very moved by his story and that is how this song was born, I actually cried writing it.)

Incredibly beautiful
in the unspolied purity of grief
in this, Archie.
Good to see you back here.
This is a very soulfull write
and I heard an awesome song
as I read it.

wow this poem took me on a journey - loved it from start to finish - i thought the ending was so fitting 'All fell unto darkness
from teardrops in your eyes.
When you came to the crossroad
that said you had to die.' i thought your choice of wording was excellent

This is so beautifully written.... It is so ironic that somethong so beautiful could stem from such a tragedy.....
Great to have you back!!!!
