Flowers on My Grave

Don’t throw flowers on my grave
Let the angels sing their slow song-
And as the worms eat my brain
Think of me with no more pain
The morning dew falls like snow
Covering the hidden truths buried below
Don’t strain your eyes or mind
Search and look, but you will never find
Privacy, all alone in my hole
No windows or doors attached-
Just myself, my thoughts, this dirt
Forever now, I can no longer hurt
Say a prayer and blow the horn
Tomorrow’s child has just been born
Take my place on this earthly throne
And let me finally rest my bones

I'm feeling the poem, such sorrow yet uplifting... A way to look at death though, made me rethink how I thought of it. I liked it... |
