there is a road that leads to more than just one place
like so many do nowadays
on that road i lie facing the ground, breathing calmly
but thinking of all the days
when the sun has set and i have not had the courage
to look you in the eyes
you're beautiful eyes that in many ways are like the road
they seem to go on until forever
come morning i will pick myself up and dust myself off
and walk a little further
because each time i fall i realize that you are just a little bit off in the distance now
i can't see you yet. but i know that you'll be waiting.
