What Would Jesus Do

Contributed by WoodyMc44 on Wednesday, 30th March 2005 @ 11:20:46 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

I look around at others,
At some in dire need,
The lonely, lost, or fathers,
With children they can’t feed.

Life has changed, seems no one cares,
For the child on the street,
The mother doing her best to share,
Who only met defeat.

Those who live in sickness,
All hope is now despair,
Could there be some light in darkness,
If we found some time to share.

I think about the wealthy
Walking lost in self-esteem,
Wrapped up in their money,
With a pauper can’t be seen.

I was taught to be polite
And lend a helping hand.
To give it all with all my might,
That I might firmly stand.

Has life, as we know it really changed?
That we no longer share,
Has life become so rearranged?
That we’re not supposed to care?

Take time to help the down at heart
Life’s complicated this is true,
So ask yourself as each day starts,
What would Jesus do?
