Prepare yourself

Contributed by pUnKa_RaCh on Wednesday, 30th March 2005 @ 05:19:08 AM in AEST

Prepare yourself for the years when you feel the worst ***** pain in your life
When you find comfort in your bloody hands and the chill of the knife
Life will kick you in the ***** and break your heart that’s for sure
But will you courageously rise up again even though you’re torn and sore?
It’s sad to say but many will take their own lives by suicide
Some will be far too weak to go on even though they tried and tried
You’ll hide in your room and crank the music till you fall asleep
You’ll hurt a lot inside and feel a dangerous anger run real deep

Death will appear better than life and a happier prospect
You’ll screw up and make mistakes and lose all self respect
You’ll long to love someone but no one will take your hand
Some will betray you and cut you so alone you’ll seem to stand
You’ll madly search for purpose anything to let you know
That life is truly worth living and you don’t really need to go
It’s not a pleasant time not when you’re breaking down and feel like *****
So prepare yourself for the ride grab on and move through it

"You’ll hide in your room and crank the music till you fall asleep"

Dude, that's more than true lol
But I shouldn't laugh (believe it or not, when ppl are really depressed, they try to make the world a better place somewhat - laughing at lame or serious issues, randomly).
But anywho, that was a great poem! I take it you're new here, haven't seen much of your work but then again I haven't been around for months...
There I go ranting again, like I have all the time in the effn world.. Sorry!
So yeah, awesome poem, created some imagery along the lines, creative, simplistic and the reality of it is very effective.
Nice write!
Keep it going!

Cheers,

Definitely dark but true. you really captured some emotions. i like the line "You’ll madly search for purpose anything to let you know
That life is truly worth living and you don’t really need to go" because it triggered one of my many thoughts on life - that one of the keys to happiness is to find purpose in your life.
