My Tears Are For You
Everything that I wanted to stay the same
Has changed.
The negativity that I used to need
To live now drowns me.
I'm suffocated by what will never be,
Because I can't reach my dreams.
You were everything that I ever wanted,
And all you did was leave me discarded.
I still stare in the mirror wondering
Why am I still living?
I never had a reason to
Until I fell in love with you.
Yet, everything was a lie
Leaving with a pointless life.
The blood doesn't relieve my pain.
The sorrows start to replace
Every want I had for happiness
With the hollowness of emptiness.
I can only feel the tears that stream,
Because I realized that dreams
Will never come true;
I will never have you.
Everything that I wanted to stay the same
Has changed,
And I can no longer live with this pain.

This is so sweet and sad. I love it. It makes me think about the time I felt like this. Very hard and lonely time. I'm very sorry you have to go through it. Tons Of Love

| ok, ill try to say new things about this poem, simply because i seem to always state the obvious--the conclusion blew me away, strong emotions, etc. The thing that i think got to me the most about this poem, was that i could easily put myself into your shoes. This sounds like a part of my recent life, it's just something that calls out to me so beautifully in its simplicity. When a certain part of reality sinks in that you thought you once needed, once understood, suddenly takes on a different, sort of grotesque meaning. I'm a bit long winded here, so i'll just say i really loved this poem, probably my new favorite by you. |
