war

Once you were there and then you were gone,
Left with memories and the same old song.
Nightmare dreams have now come true,
Iraq is calling and they've asked for you.
Why they took you away I am not sure,
The pain and the sorrow is too much to endure.
I wish to wipe away all of the pain,
But it's not that easy this game that we play.
IT's been so long since I've been in your arms,
To be swept away in your eyes and your charm.
But my hands are tied there's nothing left to do,
But sit here and write this poem for you.
I write in hopes that you will come home and be safe,
Right now your home is my heart and that's the best place.
I cannot protect you from what you will see,
But your future is led by fate and what it will be.
We will always have those cold winter days,
They were the best but we knew they couldn't stay.
So I will have those few memories and they will forever be with me,
And so will our love where it's supposed to be.
Eu te Amo!!
