The Argument

Topic: StoryPoetry

Back so soon?
We spoke just yesterday.
I can see you’re troubled,
What do you have to say?

I missed our discussions.
I missed your train of thought.
I searched for others,
But it’s your voice I sought.

I can see you’ve changed,
I admire honesty.
I’m glad you’ve learned
You can’t lie to me.

Admittedly so,
Therefore I’ll speak true.
Love’s why I’m here,
Why I’ve come to you.

Don’t you know my stance?
Don’t you know by now?
When you took that chance
And made that vow?

What vow did I make?
What words were spoken?
No vow did I take,
No words were broken.

Back to your old ways,
Lies all around!
You’ve followed this path,
With no happiness found.

I'll take this chance once,
And take it again.
For this Heart wants something
Unknown to the Brain.

Don’t go, I beg you…
Ignore it and be done!

Silence now, I will return
When I’ve had my fun…

Ahh... I've not argued on precisely these grounds, but I find I recognize the argument all too well. Excellent portrayal.

I've probably had an argument similar to this, and it is still kinda fresh in my mind..
Most of me wants to forget it though. Heh.

Great poem, Marc.
I like the way you wrote this,
Phil

Ouch! I felt the bite at the end there. Great job. This one shows a strong personality that won't take any crap!
Smooth flow from start to finish, and packed full of feeling. I can certainly relate, and it's no picnic. Well done!
