Wait Until Rain

Topic: SadPoetry

School used to be a drag.

It wouldn’t have been if everyone weren’t mad at me.
But they were.
Because I couldn’t concentrate on them.
I could only concentrate on you.
And wondering what you were doing.
How bad I wanted to do it with you.
Whatever it was.

Everyone felt sorry for me.

They didn’t even know what was wrong,
And they would send glances of apologies.
So I’d put my head down on the desk to avoid them.

I didn’t want pity.
I didn’t want apologies.
I wanted you.

I tried not to let any classmates see me cry.
But everything in the classroom was out to get me.
Everything reminded me of you.
But I still never let them see me cry.
I always whispered to myself.
“Wait until rain, Kayla.”
I adored rainy days.

They were my chance to get away.
My chance to let it all out.
Because when it’s raining,
No one can see your tears, or ask what’s wrong.
They blend in with the rain. So you can cry.

I thought about all this while I was talking to you today on the phone.
While it was raining outside.
The only difference between talking to you now and back then when I wasn’t happy,
Is the fact that tears may not be noticeable in the rain,

But smiles are…

my words when i finished reading the poem were "awww" you decribed your life well and ended it extremly well, to me the ending of a poem is one of the most important parts, it can make it or break it...and this one def. made it ..keep writing!
