Old Memories

Contributed by Jeff_Scott_Morehead on Monday, 28th March 2005 @ 10:39:37 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

Old Memories
~~~~
Up in the attic
Looking at old things
It’s amazing the memories
This old stuff can bring
Pictures and clothing
Toys and old dolls
All these memories
Stored in these walls
Laughter turned to tears
Tears into pain
As I remembered the struggles
And the gains
Pictures told the stories
Of life from the past
Each vivid memory
My mind rehashed
It’s difficult to let go
Of the loved-ones who moved on
Some to other distance places
Other to heaven they’ve gone
Each one played a role
In the eyes of this child
Whose dreams and ambitions
In his head ran wild
Now the years have been kind
And the memories have been true
So I’ve come to this attic
To think about you
To spend some time
And shed a few tears
With all the people I’ve loved
Over the years
