beautiful tragedy

Contributed by Rxqueen on Monday, 28th March 2005 @ 08:42:55 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

With your lust fading, thoughts lingering in another place,
you can no longer look longingly into this desperate face
though you still hold tight and kiss me
blessed not, this beautiful tragedy

my forever following bittersweet ending
passion you are now just carelessly pretending

I am not the girl who could break your heart
cursed be from this compulsive start

how can you not see
everything I can be?
I would be your release
and you could make my aching cease...

but you love me not for I am tainted
broken
I am nothing but your pretty token

keep me in your pocket
or place me in a tarnished forgotten locket...

I am on my knees in a plea for YOU
but my eternal emptiness I can't bid adew...

betrayed by my own past and sadistic heart
destined for "the end" from the very start

but still this beautiful tragedy I hold dear
clinging to hope in an undenyable fear

too fast I ask too much?
if it is such
please then release me
set my broken heart free
for I no longer want to be
bound to this beautiful tragedy.

Now why would you want me to cry? I walked right through your poem and saw it for myself. What a beautiful write. Thank you for sharing an unselfish piece of work.

We can only redeem ourselves.
You are as beautiful as you want to be.

Jocelyn,

As a poet ... beautiful
As a friend ... heart wrenching

... and all that we are left with as the final curtain falls ... is time

I'm at such a loss for words. So many times you've commented
on my poetry and I have failed to find the words to give yours justice.
I was deeply moved by this piece, J. You are a brilliant poet.
*in silent awe*
