My Little Sister

I could feel her eyes boar into mine; she was trying to read my guilt
Bonds that are left unstable; destinies that crumble the minute they are built
She searched my eyes for answers, even though she knew she couldn’t find
The one thing that she hoped to fulfill; trying to unlock the secrets inside.

Her breath grew faster every second; she started to turn away
I opened my mouth to speak the words, but there was nothing left to say,
Her eyes held reminiscences of the past; reflections mirrored in her tears
I wanted to tell her so many things; wanted her to take away all my fears.

I needed her to comfort me those times when I felt so blue
I wanted to tell her that every day my love for her constantly grew,
She was the only one who could save me; clear my mind of all doubts
She was the only one who could teach me what life was all about.

But as she walks away from me, I fell that all my hope is gone
Standing helplessly on the sidewalk, my heart feeling alone and forlorn,
Everything that I’d ever wanted had finally been taken away from me
Leading me straight to the door of life’s cruel tactics and jeopardizes.

She turns her head slightly; I can feel a flutter of hope once more
But she didn’t come racing back; my heart continuing to bleed to the core,
And as the clean wisp of air blows her hair across her face
It hides the falling tears that send my heart into a battling race.

Just one more glimpse of her and my soul would be satisfied
But inside I knew that would never come; I held her memories deep inside,
Even though I live my life in pain, I hoped that life for her would be free of blisters
Blessing her one last time and praying to God to look after my little sister.
