Love Can Never Win

Contributed by white_tiger on Sunday, 27th March 2005 @ 07:35:50 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

A pink sari that glows and glitters
With every step that she takes,
Bangles and anklets that chine and tinkle
With every movement that she makes.

Thoughts that have gone astray
A heart that feels so weighed down,
Mind and soul tense with worry
Smiles that always turn into frowns.

She holds her past safe inside
With no one will she share,
The troubles and worries that haunt her
Leaving her heart empty and bare.

Dreams she wishes were reality
That man; she can see his face,
But then she hears her husband’s call
And everything goes back into a haze.

Her husband’s hand reaches out to her
Salty tears fill her eyes,
That man that loved her dearly
Mirrored with guilt and lies.

She thought that fate wouldn’t reach them
But it was already too late,
Family feuds that built up barriers
Bricks filled with envy and hate.

Every step she takes is a burden
One more obstacle she has to defeat,
But love is something more than a rock
Something she can never beat.

However hard that she may try
There’s always a truth in every sin.
Leading a life filled with unhappiness
Knowing that she can never win.
