Wounds and Shards

Contributed by Eterno_Vittima on Sunday, 27th March 2005 @ 06:44:59 PM in AEST
Topic: Patriotic

Wandering along a dark land
Seeing pain,, anguish, anger, destruction
All hope seemingly lost
Colors are non-existant
Grays, Blacks
No light shines through

The joy Felt as a child,
No worries, only love
Seems to have been a dream
A dream lying shattered on the floor
Among so many others like it

Dreams of life
Dreams of love
Dreams of happiness
Dreams of good ...

Picking up the Shattered pieces
A lost hope
For every time a dream shatters
A shard cuts into me
Wounding me

So many wounds
None have had time to mend
For as one dream shatters
Another begins to fall
As I run to save it
I trip over past shards of dreams ....

As I bend to try to pick up the shards
I see a new image
I look down
And reflecting in the broken dreams
Is a face
A loving face
One come to help me

Taking me aside
He tends to my wounds
And for a second,
A hue of color is visible
In this being's face
The humble face
Shown to the one who loves him most

Picking up the pieces
Lost dreams, lost hopes
All is no longer lost
But found in the humble face of the stranger

Definitly good...it's a lot like something I've written, called A Winters Tale, but I never posted it. I really dug it
