Fate and Fortune

Contributed by girish on Sunday, 27th March 2005 @ 05:42:08 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

As the say goes “to Err is Human”
And as the belief stays “to bless is divine”
If all obtain god`s blessings, god is really humane
But if we suffer, we curse god for being inhuman

For many of us alas! Fate is fixed down in the foothills
Till the appointed time we cannot turn the gate upon its hinges
As per the belief, if it is the god by whom fate thus brings
I say god also does evil but does he really fall in to the rings

For some of us hai! Fortune smiles even at the brinks
For the entire life fate is seen just like eyelid winks
For these people, with fortune, god alone makes the links
Why is this difference? What is that your mind thinks?

For no cause if one suffers, they say it is the result of past actions
That stem from your previous births in this new incarnation
If this be the prize you receive for your innocence
Even for a luxurious and comfortable birth I will not have preference

Let the lord release all his subjects from the effect of fate
With peace and happiness you will beg for someone to hate
Fate or Fortune, if there should really be a debate
And if fortune smiles on all of us, hai guys! Its really great.

This one I had to ponder a bit bec. i'm in a philosophical mood.

Are we not the master of our own fate? We do make the decisions, which set the course, and arrive at a destination.

As to fortune, it doesn't always brings smiles.

I like to believe we have choices and we wisely make them or for every action suffer consequence.

This is a very well written poem. One to be proud of.

Kie
