I wake up every morning
I look out the window and see the birds soaring
Oh Lord, how I wish I could fly in the sky
If only I could touch the clouds, so high
I would fly high enough to touch heaven’s face
I would, and I would never come down from that place
God, give me the wings to fly
I don’t have to say goodbye
I’ll just flap my wings and fly away
And hope that’ll be together someday
As I fly, I look done to the ground
I see everything that’s going around
I wish I could stop the violence
But would I really want total silence?
Oh Lord, how I wish I could fly in the sky
If only I could touch the clouds, so high
I would fly high enough to touch heaven’s face
I would, and I would never come down from that place
