Princess Nevermore

Contributed by Rxqueen on Saturday, 26th March 2005 @ 01:22:39 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

I always wanted to be that beautiful fairy tale bride
teering up, unable to hide my glowing pride
my daddy would walk me down the aisle,
and you would be standing there all the while,
my perfect husand to be...
the angel sent to protect over me
waiting,
anticipating,
the moment our hearts would become one

But my fairy tale dream has come undone...

This feeling of emptiness within...
is it greater then my engorgement with sin?

overflowing with such utter despair
but cannot find an ouce of happiness in there

bloated with hate and perpetual lies
though only vacancy stares out of these eyes

regret never changes, it don't fade
never will it be a due that has been paid
it's a tarnish nothing can polish away
just gets dingier each passing day

this "love" is nothing but dissapating lust
this relationship was never built on trust

we are falling through the cracks
we are far from the right track
(and I don't want to ever look back)
nothing is going to change here...
but always will you have my tears.

Who did you think I was anyway?
when you got on your knee that fated day?
when you shakily gave me that ring?
I never changed a thing...
What did you think I was gonna do?
What the F did you think I was gonna do?!
Change for you?!
Well surprise!
There is no disguise.
No princess behind these blackened eyes.

I always wanted to be that beautiful bride
unable to hide my glowing pride
my daddy would walk me down the aisle,
and you would be standing there all the while,
my perfect husand to be
the angel sent to protect over me
waiting
anticipating
the moment our hearts would become one

But my fairy tale dream has come undone...

You have raped my dreams
and now it seems
i am but a hollow shell
an empty hell
can you hear my heart beat?
because it is in retreat,
it now knows defeat.

You call me princess in a cynical, sarcastic way
but don't you see, I thought I was a princess one day
a little girl with wide eyes and an open heart
never'd guessed this little girl would be ravaged apart...

Where is my prince charming to take me away from this graveyard of dreams-dead
where is my sweet knight to fill new ones in my little princess head?
My crown lays broken on the ground beside me,
this little princess never came to be...

Wow written with such despair, I loved this
poem but it hurts me to see someone like
this. I hope everything works out and
remember that everything can change
including yourself. Keep up the writing
hopefully it will enable you to get your dark
thoughts and pain out.

*hugs*
Joel

This was such a sad sad write, I used to dream like this that love will be on my side.

Those lines where so powerful and deep, your such an incredible writer.

Jane

Hey Jocelyn, I can honestly say for the first time I think I have tears in my eyes...I can so relate to this. It is such a shame that life ends up like this at times...it will get better though...and I think you are a strong enough woman to pull through a'ight. Great wrapping it up in this poem....
