return to calm

Contributed by colette on Thursday, 19th December 2002 @ 07:20:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

her life
is a neverending
counterbalance
between emotional extremes.

inevitably passions flare
streaks of brilliant yellow against a cobalt sky
tearing through the fields of sunflowers
blueyellowblueyellow.

thunderstorm on the prairie.
stillness gives way to a
sizzling electricity
clap of thunder
torrential rain falls in sheets.
release.

in the end
she searches
for the elusive calm.

the quiet of the snowfall
in the early morning.
hush.
perfectly
still
silent
slumber.

rocking her daughter to sleep
whose tiny, clenched fists
open
like a flower.

This person sounds strangely familiar to me.
No, but seriously, thanks for all the advice on escaping. i think I'm going to go with the pole vault. The next time he opens the cage to refill my dish with those friggin seeds, I'm going for it. on the way down I'm gonna peck the bastard in the eye and poop on his papers.

I'll call you from Nevada.
maybe we can hook up. I'll wear a feather in my hat.

Love,
Desmond.
