Your Wall

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I paint pictures
In my mind
I drift to the place
Where we could be
I feel you there
I see your smile
I hear your laughter
I sense your comfort
The could be
It's always so perfect
So amazing
So beautiful
Just when I think
I'm about to feel your touch
Your wall is there
A sobering reminder
In so many ways
I've tried so hard
To break it down
But you stand still
On the otherside
So close but so far away
And so I stand
On my side of your wall
I try so hard
To stand strong
To look you in your eye
And pretend
I'm not trembling inside
Pretend my heart
Is not calling out to you
I pretend at my will
I'll just walk away
But my steps are frozen
As if they've told my heart
There's a reason
To stay where you are
And so I stay
Beyond my control
I stand
Staring into your soul
I wonder
If this is all it will ever be
Will I stand forever
With you
Just beyond my reach
Will you ever
Break down your wall
