Exposed

Contributed by FleurdeSang on Friday, 25th March 2005 @ 12:01:52 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

The flowers bloom only at the stroke of midnight,
A concerto of violins shriek in the distance,
And the sun finally takes her last breath,
Dying on that infinite horizon…

A lily is born into a meadow of roses,
The pink in a gray world,
Misjudged, hated, illusion…

Me…

An artist paints a picture of a vibrant nothing,
A poet weeps for the inspiring touch of his muse,
Two dancers share a rapid tango,
And the flemenco guitar whispers a sweet “I love you,”
To the dreamer within her dream…

Fingertips mingle with soft ivory,
The piano coughs a dusty tune,
And Beethoven plays his melancholic Moonlit Sonata…

Drowning in a sea of thoughts,
My pen bleeds a long ebony puddle,
No words to be found…

La Luna smiles down at me,
Telling me a tale of love and melodrama…
A cloud of nostalgia hangs over my head,
Salty rain falls from these weary eyes,
And I dream of love letters in the sand…

Lurking death,
Impending depression,
Reveries of the monster in my nightmares…

Slowly slipping,
The blade entices me with promises of release…
On my flesh now,
Blood has yet to start flowing,
My mind is screaming for another way,
I don’t want to go back to that time again…

Voices urge me, the pain will subside afterwards…
Just a quick bite of my metal solace,
And all will be ok…
Why do I lie to myself?
I know it won’t be that way…
The pain always comes back,
Relentless, raw determination to make me finally end it…
For good…

Lingering near,
My faceless shadow,
He comforts with his embrace of warm love…
I fall helpless,
Succumbing to his sweet song of silent adoration…
And everything seems to ebb away…

This complex tale of mine,
A roller coaster of highs and lows,
My mask of deception is fading,
Time to reveal the true being behind the disguise…

EXPOSED…

Wow..I agree with Pix, this is amazing..
I love how you write and how you use bold and italics to such a great effect.
And once again, your metaphores... stunning.

My favourite piece, though, must be this:

"An artist paints a picture of a vibrant nothing,
A poet weeps for the inspiring touch of his muse,
Two dancers share a rapid tango,
And the flemenco guitar whispers a sweet “I love you,”
To the dreamer within her dream…

Fingertips mingle with soft ivory,
The piano coughs a dusty tune,
And Beethoven plays his melancholic Moonlit Sonata…

Drowning in a sea of thoughts,
My pen bleeds a long ebony puddle,
No words to be found…
"

Just...wow...

Fantastic write, Stephy,
*hugs tons* Phil xxx
