Deadline
Do you know that word?
I know I should
From what I have heard

I think it meant something
Somewhere, to someone
Once upon a time
As a twisted cruel pun

Now, I don't think it matters
But I know that we should
Somehow, gather ourselves
Like we did the wood

For the fire we set
When we set this course
To bang ourselves senseless
And quote every source

I know its our bidding
Through talk and through thin
But which message, this time
Will you choose to send?
