Chocolate Is My Weakness

I just know that I shouldn't,
No matter the temptation.
But that wonder sprung from cocoa,
Is too much a sensation.
It sits there and it taunts me,
All i need is one small bite,
To let its flavour be savoured.
I can't fight such a delight.
Its rich aroma teases,
And thoughts of baking arise.
The tastebuds long for such sweetness,
Of brownies, frudge, rich mud pies.
Delicious thoughts consume me,
Of cakes - truffles of all sorts,
Of cookies, ice cream and fondues,
Of cream tarts and yummy tortes,
Oh enticing images,
Of flans and cheescakes galore,
Of souffles and rich creamy mousse,
Of trifles and so much more.
I can't stand it i give up,
I can't live in such bleakness,
This splendour I can't live without,
As chocolate is my weakness.

| Thanks for you feedback - i realise this isn't one of my best poems but i was in the mood for some chocolate and i figured i would write a little quirky poem about it. Believe me it made me hungry writing it. |
