The War of Time

Topic: oops

The War of Time

Ground upon the stones of time
My spirit lifts again
It wraps itself in linens soft
My body's, not it's friend

My spirit is as old as life
as young as morning dew
My spirt wants to romp and play
My body, rest, anew

My spirit and my body
a war without a word
They wage against each other
Yet not a sound is heard

My spirit is more
a friend to me
My body more
an enemy

The sand of time
flows quickly by
My spirit stands firm
Yet, my body will die.

Carol

This was a nice peice of work.

I really liked these two stanzas:

"Ground upon the stones of time
My spirit lifts again
It wraps itself in linens soft
My body's, not it's friend

My spirit and my body
a war without a word
They wage against each other
Yet not a sound is heard"

I am only 21, but already I feel out of sync, my soul and body. I am often calleimmature and childish, that I need to grow up. But I don't want to I guess. I don't want to get old. I want to be free from "time" and age forever. Loves it!

And do I ever relate as well!

You've spoken something that has been increasingly on my thoughts. As I think my spirit matures, I find the words of this poem grow truer and truer.

Well said, and thank you.

Andrew
