The water from the pitcher overflowed, it overflowed
when the eyes couldn’t take any more.
Mother said you shouldn’t go
Brother didn’t approve either
Father said ‘one more day’ then it overflowed.
Grandma said you mustn’t go
Grandad said you mustn’t go
Your friend said ‘one more day’ then it overflowed
when the eyes couldn’t take any more…

Can you hear the crow chant a sweet melody?
The melody for your wedding procession,
it glows and glitters with the stars up high.
And can you see his incomparable beauty
Struck by the moonlight so fair?
But somewhere in the heavens, a voice does cry.
Where the breeze combs through fields of wheat
And rainbows of scarves go flying around
in the golden earth and the blue sky.
Where the innocent children are as dear as dolls
Listening to their grandmother’s stories
of dreams that prevail and continue to fly.
Who knows when the rains will finally cease?
Look there! Over the mountains, the clouds
are softly singing to your new home.
In this city of dreams, on the road of memories
Just listen to this valley of flowers
as they tell your story alone.
Why is the atmosphere saturated with colour?
The beautiful ripples that sing such tunes
so graciously in the breeze.
And can you see his face in every flower?
Hear the sound of his footsteps in your heart
Even when you don’t breathe?
Your acts of desires, just reassure me they’re true
When the memories of you overtake me,
my tears suddenly start to flow.
And if we may be separated, I shall bear the pain
Throughout the rest of my life, this
I’d just like you to know.
Can your hear the sounds of the wedding bells?
They call you to their doorstep, waiting for you
to give him your heart.
The world is covered with so many special things
But it’s the little things in life, that mean the most,
that you can sometimes tear apart.
So as the thunder roars and lightening strikes
Only two hearts burn silently through
the deafening noise and pelting rain.
Never desert him, never be angry with him
For he’s someone who’ll be there for you
forever; someone to share your pain.
And as you step out of the courtyard
You leave only your memories’ fragrance
for your loved ones to keep.
You will see the love imprinted in his eyes
Take your husband’s hand and behind
you can quietly hear them weep.

This was an amazing write! I loved the vivid imagery and metaphors. Your use of language was great. I am going through very hard marriage right now...everyone said not to do it... but I did and here I am suffering. I really loved this poem. I could relate. In the end my eyes were all watery, lol. It was beautifully written. Loves it!!!!
I ecspecailly loved this section:
"Can your hear the sounds of the wedding bells?
They call you to their doorstep, waiting for you
to give him your heart.
The world is covered with so many special things
But it’s the little things in life, that mean the most,
that you can sometimes tear apart.

Once again, amazing job, thank you so much for sharing! XOXOXO

Wow, I have to second the tears in the eyes at the end of this one! And yeah, this part:
So as the thunder roars and lightening strikes
Only two hearts burn silently through
the deafening noise and pelting rain.
Never desert him, never be angry with him
For he’s someone who’ll be there for you
forever; someone to share your pain.
was what did it. Really heartfelt and something your reader relates to in a very emotionally significant manner. I also LOVED
"Where the innocent children are as dear as dolls"
"And can you see his face in every flower?"
Awesome, awesome write!!!
