Torn

Contributed by Nazmythian on Thursday, 24th March 2005 @ 12:42:56 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

----------

I look out in my driveway
I can see my future there
A busted, rusted Buick
Time forgot and no one cares
But I can see it shining
Like it did when it was new
It looks at me through
Cracked headlights
And says
Hey man, I'm just like you

Torn up, torn down, torn apart
Every day that I remain here
Is another start
In a life time of uncertainties
Yesterday's desire
Feeds tomorrow's dreams
I was placed right here by destiny
The day that I was born
But today ain't got no answers

So I just sit here

Torn

PS ... yes, that really is my car

Scott, you know how much I love this, right?

Well..I can't say anymore then I have already, you know what I think; but I'll just remind you, I am always here for you, K? And though things may not be working out now, it doesn't mean they won't.

Here for you,
Much love,
Phil xxx

Hi Naz,

I guess a picture is worth a 1000 words; and the way you intersperse your words with the visual is masterful. The way you open your heart is what makes you so special, Naz. You portray a symbol of what was, what is, and what can be: I hope you are able to focus on the potential, not the "torn". I am really struck by ...Yesterdays desire...Feeds tomorrows dreams... Perhaps yesterdays desires, feed todays satisfactions, which lead to tomorrows dreams.

I'm getting kind of lengthly here, but if you are down or just need to talk, feel free to PM me at any time.... I'll be here.

Let me know if you are ok, my friend

Willofree, Terry

I LOVED the way you compared yourself to a car. That was very creative. Wonderful write as well. I think everybody can compare themselves to something like this in life. Great job. Much love.

It is those that look at the pictures/the car and see something unappealing that I feel badly for. Obviously, you have not forgotten it and you can still see it in its prime. Rust on an old car is like wrinkles on a person, I think --- it happens, but it doesn't make them any less wonderful.

I'm inclined to think that maybe you don't need to let go the dream... just perhaps redefine it? *feels sort of pushy saying that but can't help but think it feels right*

Classics, Nazzy... the car, the poem... you.

:*( This is so incredibly sad, Scotty... I'm so sorry that you are feeling this way... And I'm glad that you are releasing your emotions in a healthy way. I can feel your pain, your struggle... A busted up Buick staring back at you, mocking, saying it is you... Damn, Scott... That is intense. Absolutely flawless and a real tear-jerker. Always know that you have friends here, and you can PM me whenever you need to talk, my friend. =) Remember, we are never alone in our times of darkness and sorrow... There are many hearts and souls out there, that are just as torn, cheri... All my love and comfort to a hurting friend. Forever,

Votre petit fleur,

Stephy. *huggles for Scotty.*

Did you send them a copy of your well written poem?
