On Fertile Sand (Like Titan-Seed)

Contributed by Sagacious on Tuesday, 22nd March 2005 @ 05:29:33 PM in AEST
Topic: mythology

Universal properties ever-present (in vertigo
of being) as from supine gaze, skyward-looking,
sphere of tortoise-shell proportion encompasses
all things earthly known and unknown;

In Mother's arms made warm amid still waters,
cold this overcast, lightning-flashed early summer's
eve (or was it morn?), alone but for the stars (and fish
within outstretched leg's proximity),

as, entangled, Mother and Child make love
(beneath hazy-filtered moon).

And all around him, giants mark his passing
from the here and now to the ecstatic hereafter,
as essence, in-transference (with Mother's lukewarm
embrace), makes liquid his equilibrium;

"Yet no place stands alone as more exotic..."
and she bucks, rebuffing him (rightly) his error
in response, while his passion (he has no better word
to describe it) now swiftly surges,

one part per million,
on fertile sand (like Titan-seed).

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
