Escaping The Past

Contributed by KishaLovesCare126 on Tuesday, 22nd March 2005 @ 04:19:09 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

2/4/05

I've tried to shut it out
Slamming doors in its face
And hiding under the covers
Turned up the real music loud
Sat in a corner screaming
It is all still in my head.

The past won't leave me alone
My heart wasn't shield gold
Now I guess I am on my own
I don't like that I've turned so cold.

Smashed it in the ground
It is hitting me up for rebound
Thrown it out the window
The wind brings it back through.

What am I doing wrong?
Why dose it last so long?
Past should be done and gone
When can I move on?

Burned it with sunlight
Shown it I'm not scared of fright
I pained my room black
Told it never to come back.

I've fallen through the cracks
Jumping from stone to stone
I'm in a world of my own
Trapped inside are flames gone dull.
