My eyes closed
The tears not shown
They can't be real
They can't be known
And if they were
I would fall apart
For all that I stand for
For shining in the dark
But the darkness is overpowering me
I cannot do anything to prevent this belief
As I rest I cry out for help
But my lips never open
My mouth stays shut
My eyes opened
I see the world
For all that it stands for
For all that it holds
But deep in my mind
It is falling apart
The world is failing
This world's not my home
The darkness is overpowering me
I can not do anything to prevent this belief
Come and stand by me
Maybe you can help me to believe
There is something worth living for
There is something that can spark
A feeling that once resided inside my dead heart
I do not remember what it was
What it did for my mind
But I remember I once was happy
Before I was left behind

This is a truly remarkable write. Its deep, emotional and expressive. I almost wish I could hear the tune to go with it. Beautiful, written to perfection and flows smoothly. Thanks for sharing.
