Returning Pain

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Years and years ago,
I felt this awful pain.
It made my tears fall helplessly,
Just like the angry rain.

I spent my youth,
With bruises on my skin.
But those have now faded,
Yet remain deep down within.

His words would wear me down,
Until I was no more.
He'd hit me until I was black and blue,
Then would leave me crying on the floor.

Mommy never told him no,
To her it was okay.
Even now she doesnt realize,
I think about it everyday.

The poison left the house,
But I knew it wasnt for good.
That pain has now returned to me,
Just like I knew it would.

This hurt's got a new face,
But reminds me all the same.
It's barely begun,
It's only the beginning of the game.

I can see it coming,
As always mom is blind.
She cant see its back again,
She must be out her mind.

I cant let him hurt me,
Just like I hurt before.
I cant let it happen again,
I wont be crying again on the floor.

My walls are starting to crumble,
Im now beginning to cry.
I cant go through this over again,
Id just rather die.

God, if you're listening,
Please dont let him stay.
I cant go through this pain again,
Just make it go away!
