All that is left is a slight tinge of regret,
the kind that leaves bland strands of grey,
smeared vertically across crusted lines,
that run parrallel to the lines of your fingers.
An example that nothing ever comes easy,
every simple acknowledgement must be won over
from opposing forces to the side that we stand on,
often off balanced, yet, still standing,
acceptingly.
And more often than not,
it takes quite a few moments to calm the inner yearnings
that rest, restless, within scattered minds,
like mothers must feel before birth, full with
anticipation, expectation, and an uncontrolable urge
to leave the whole mess undone (almost).
Carefully that is, remember the last regret, and
remember why it happened, and remember why you lost,
the inner struggle between desires and dreams, that
came before words could describe the sensation,
that represent the most primal urge to be free
and to experience the limitless capability of touch.
A soft word,
a sound,
a feeling,
transformed with movement, as a hand rests gently
in your palms, as truth is transmitted and recieved
simultaneously, a silent moment is understood
unwaveringly, and this is best described,
as soft.
Sometimes though,
it is not so easy to explain, and this is where
I find myself (most readily) able to allow darkness
to interject (visually), and silence to breathe
stillness into confusion. And always,
(almost always) the solitude opens into a
vast canyon, full with emptiness, illuminating
the unteachable meaning, and it finally occurs
that it is sometimes best left unexplained,
open, naked, untouched, so that
the next individual who knows that they are alive
can experience the same realization,
and be content,
knowing that there are no words necessary
to speak.

ahhhh what a refreshing read!!!
I love the feel of this piece. You do so well to describe with words those questions and feelings that are truely best when left unsaid. As confusing at that sounds I think you know what I mean.
Perfect title.
I am so glad you posted this! Thank you! |

im blown away...*speechless* (no pun intended...wlel actually..yeah lol) no actually i do have something to say, what you write here describes the very moments we have i love the lines:
"Carefully that is, remember the last regret, and
remember why it happened, and remember why you lost,
the inner struggle between desires and dreams, that
came before words could describe the sensation,
that represent the most primal urge to be free
and to experience the limitless capability of touch"
that just made the poem for me, awesome |
