selfstruggles
|
That tap tap tapping of your fingernails
Is really getting under my skin
And if you hum another broken tune
I think I'll go insane
Please
You don't know what it does to me
When you grit your teeth
Or when you pat me on the head
If you could see the darkest thoughts
Of twisted wrecks of broken men
And your face lying ruined in the sand
You'd stop
Please stop
Don't look down on me again
I can't bear it
I hate the empty face you force me to show
Take me seriously
Forget the giggles and the dirty lines
And see me, finally, as an intellect
A mind
A soul
Just this, only this, no more
You don't have to like me, applaud me, encourage me
Just treat me like I exist
And I won't have to push this pain down anymore
There'll be riots in the streets tonight
A misplaced anger set alight
Because this feeling
The need to rip your eyes out
Is taking hold of me
And as I start to shake and boil
The pain starts to look good to me
It's either my flesh or your flesh
For my nails to rip and tear
And I'll never be hated
For hurting myself
